The Quaker Lesbian Conference exists to be a loving time and space in which self-defined women (including those who are transgendered) who are Quaker or familiar with Quakerism, and who are lesbian, bisexual, or moving towards those identities, can connect with Spirit and with each other. We envision a community in which each woman shares worship, spiritual exploration and loving relationships in an environment that embraces diversity, individual leadings, struggle, and play.

QLC 2007: a success!

Dear Friends,

Our gathering is now behind us, but we can keep its spirit alive by sharing our remembrances and planning for future gatherings. Ahavia and Shelley spoke during the conference about the possibility of creating a Google or Yahoo! group for interested folks... although there are a few among us who are not internet-enabled. Do Friends have thoughts about that?

In other news, there's a great site that can serve as a jumping off point for further exploration of the Quaker Blogosphere; if you haven't checked it out already, see Martin Kelley and Friends' QuakerQuaker.org

We hope that many of you will be able to join us at our upcoming conference, planned for August 17-19th in central NJ! We are working hard to make sure that it is an enjoyable and spiritually enriching experience for all attenders.

Please see the registration form here. (This document was originally formatted in Word; if you'd like to receive a copy via email, which may print closer to the original formatting, please let us know in the comments.)

And we'd love it if you could help us get the word out to would-be attendees with children; the deadline for registration for women with children is July 1st (postmark) so that we'll have time to plan appropriately.

General registration is open through July 28th (postmark), after which a late fee will be imposed.

Friday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007
at a conference center in New Jersey

The conference theme is:
Building Bridges Across Class, Race and Age

The Quaker Lesbian Conference exists to be a loving time and space in which women (self-defined) familiar with Quakerism, who are lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or moving towards those identities, can connect with Spirit and with each other. We envision a community in which each woman shares worship, spiritual exploration and loving relationships in an environment that embraces diversity, individual leadings, struggle, and play.

The center is located in the middle of downtown Burlington, an urban setting. We will have exclusive use of this accessible facility. There are bunk beds and attenders will need to plan to bring their own linens. There is ample and interesting space for workshops and an old attached Meeting House in which to hold worship.
